After posting “Spot the pub 9 ” a reader remarked ” It’s ok – but it’s just an excuse to go for a drink isn’t it ?” – Rhetorical question surely – Wessyman would like to state right now that the reader was entirely correct with this observation – But Wessyman does not need an excuse to drink beer – It comes natural. -Wessyman is actually working on a local history project – but on looking at his pictures has decided that the pictures are very poor and need to be retaken.so we will do another spot the pub to keep his followers interested. – Right – dinnertime, ( that’s midday in Yorkshire – if you’re posh it’s lunchtime). So lets go down to the pub for a beer and a burger! – Yes this is where I got a taste for Otter Bitter.
A look at the menu – lets have a burger
Yes it is healthy , there is some rabbit food hiding behind the chips . I need another beer – so we will have a look around.
I do not know who or what T/D is commemorating – back to the beer.
Oh that goes down well 🙂 – lets look around some more.
Regular visitors making sure the bar doesn’t fall over.
The pictures are actually painted on the plaster ( well it looks that way anyway)
There was also ” Doom Bar ” on tap as well – Quite partial to that also. Got to say this is a very popular pub, – good beer – good food, and reasonable prices, very popular with the wrinklies during in the day; buying a meal and seeing how long they can make half a lager last .
This is no real challenge to “The Weatherhill Beerhunter” but have a go anyway – (give Otter Bitter a go)- PS if the otter brewery would like to thank me for promoting their product and would like to send a “sample” of their product just drop Wessyman an E mail and he will foreward a delivery address 🙂
Quick PPS – do you remember back in the 1970’s drinking ” Wilson’s Bitter” — It was AWFUL – That’s when beer was bad – keg beer and all that – YUK – Why did we drink it? – because there was no choice – you either drank it or did without !
